Privacy policy

The short version: this site sets no cookies, does not measure you and loads nothing from third-party servers. Your article numbers and logos never leave your device. Everything that does happen is listed in full below.

Controller

The controller for data processing on this site is the provider named in the legal notice. Legal notice

What this site does not do

No cookies, no recognition across visits, no ad networks, no social networks, no embedded maps or videos. No external fonts either: the site uses the typeface already present on your device. Everything your browser loads comes from this address.

Audience measurement

We count page views to see whether anyone uses the site at all. That is handled by Cloudflare, Inc. as our host: the report shows the page requested, the country of origin and a coarse device type, in totals rather than per person. No cookies are set for it, and there is nothing that could recognise you across visits. On its free tier Cloudflare, Inc. also injects a counting script of its own, likewise cookie-free; that cannot be switched off there, and we would rather say so than leave it out. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in knowing whether running the site is worthwhile. Since no cookies are set and no information is read from your device, no consent under section 25 TDDDG is required.

What never leaves your device

Article numbers, product data, uploaded logos and the codes, labels and PDF files made from them. They are computed in your browser and held there for as long as the page is open. There is no interface through which they could be transmitted. That is not a promise but a consequence of how this is built, and you can read it in the source.

Server logs

When you open the page, your browser transmits technical details to our host Cloudflare, Inc., as it does for any website: your IP address, date and time, the address requested and your browser identifier. These logs serve secure operation and are deleted by the host after a short period. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in trouble-free operation. The site is served from the dem jeweils naechstgelegenen Rechenzentrum, fuer Besucher aus Deutschland in der Regel Frankfurt am Main region. The provider is based in the USA; a data processing agreement with standard contractual clauses is in place.

The feedback button

Only if you use it and press send is anything transmitted, and this list is exhaustive: your message, the chosen type of report, the language, the step you were on, your browser identifier and, if you enter one, your email address. This becomes a publicly visible entry in the project issue tracker at GitHub Inc. in the USA. Please do not write anything there that should not be public. The legal basis is your consent by sending, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. To stop repeated submissions the server keeps your IP address in memory for twenty seconds without storing it.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Contact the address in the legal notice to exercise them. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority; the competent one is that of the federal state where the provider is based.

All calculations run in your browser. No file and no article number is transmitted to a server.
